Welcome to the Burt GAA club's new website.

Burt GAA club is one of the oldest in the country. We're not quite sure when it was first formed, but we do know that it predates the formation of the GAA in 1884.

Throughout our history, we have been known as a hurling team. Indeed, Donegal's first Ulster title, the 1906 SHC, was won by Burt who defeated Antrim by 5-21 to 0-1.

Today, the club continues to prosper on the hurling field winning 16 consectuive Donegal SHC titles between 1991 and 2006 (a national record) and competes in the Donegal league and championship, as well as the Ulster Hurling League and the Kilmacud Sevens (shield section).

On the football front, we play in Division 4 of Donegal's All County League and the Junior championship.

We field teams at all under-age grades from under-8/10s to under-21 in both football and hurling and have been competing in under-age handball competition for several years.

The club also fields in under-age camogie and girls' football competition.

As of December 2009, the senior hurlers won their county championship in september and reached the semi-finals of the Ulster junior hurling championship.. The Senior footballers were beat in the relegation play-off of Division 3 and will play in Division 4 next year. Once again at underage we are hoping to build on last few years work after having considerable success. Back soon.
